Pool liners

Here are several tips to help prepare to install new pool liners:

• Drain water
• Remove ladders
• Remove face plates and gaskets
• Remove old liner
• Replace old wall-bolt seam tape with new duct tape
• Sweep area clear of debris

Pool liners add a decorative motif to a swimming pool and cover defects. Installing a pool liner will give your pool a new look. There are several steps to installing a new one:

• Measure the dimensions
• Decide what kind of liner you would like to have: vinyl, concrete or fiberglass.
• Know your budget. Long lasting liners are somewhat expensive but will save money in the long run.
• Choose the pattern. They come with trees, checkers, bead, and trees, and more.
• Purchase the liner from a reputable pool supply retailer. Compare prices and quality to make an informed decision.

It is not uncommon for pool liners to wrinkle. This is distasteful for aesthetic reasons and can be rectified. If the pool is full and has small wrinkles a toilet plunger is a handy tool to have. Plunge around the wrinkle, not directly on it. This will spread the liner out and hopefully remove the unsightly wrinkle. If there are too many wrinkles one may have to call a professional service.
